Here in Houston, TX, the owner made me sign an lease addendum to be able to advertise, show, & sell this house while we occupy it. Original intent was to buy, NOT to specifically lease the house. I want out, to go rent an apartment, to save $500/mo. as I became recently unemployed. Owner will not void lease – he wants the $1500/mo.

I am looking to help buy my mom a house in the surrounding Houston area. All the “good” neighborhoods would probably make her feel “left out” or “out of place”. I want there to be a strong Hispanic community without the “ghetto” environment. I am in Tomball and would like to have her near me…any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I live currently on long island and the living cost here is just way too expensive i will never be able to afford buying my own house here.
Where as i used to live outside of Houston, TX and with 150k you can easily get a very nice house thats less than 20 years old.
so what am i looking at here? suppose i have 10k for downpayment…

I am in themarket for a house in Houston, Texas.
I don’t know if it is better to buy an older house or a brand new one.
I am in Houston for 4 years only and I want to know where it is better to invest it in a new house or an old house. I mean regarding to the appreciation when I want to sell it later.
Any extra information about houses in houston and good areas for investment would be really great..

Is there any Banks out that doe’s rural land loans. I’m In Houston TX. My house is payed for. I have my 90 year old Mom at home. This is hard to say but she will not be with me very much longer and I need to start looking for another house when shes gone. When you lose your 92 year old Dad here and your Mom too.It’s really hard to stay here. All my Family has left Houston but me and after 54 years I think it’s time. I could sell the house and then buy another after shes gone but that means I would have to stay longer…………………………. .

All the news indicates that homebuyers are at a big advantage right now. Right now I have a lot of debt. But lately I have hammered down a lot of debt and could be debt free and holding a respectable down payment in about 1.5 years. I do have savings, but it is all tied up in a 401K. I have great credit, so I am told that I can get into a house with no money down, but this makes me uncomfortable. My question is this – with the market as it is and with my financial situation as it is, should I start looking for homes now, or should I wait until my debt is wiped out even though the market will most likely rebound by then? I am in Houston by the way.
